Organizing Tip #30 comes from Facebook Fan Ingrid:
Since I am an avid dog walker I think it is always a great idea to have both cars outfitted with a blanket.... When the dog is off leash and we come across water of any sort upon returning to the car the seats or the back of the car can be easily covered and will not end up with messy footprints on them. The blanket is easily washed and the car is clean!
Organizing Tip #31 comes from Facebook Fan Lisa:
Not sure if you have a similar tip, but I was thinking of posting this last night when I looked in my pantry for a special salad dressing. My tip is about grocery shopping. I keep a small notebook on my counter with a pen. If I run out of something while I'm cooking I write it down on the list. The kids and husband are trained to write things down that they want or "need" (sometimes I have to screen the kid's needs), however, the day before I grocery shop, I look over the list. There is a pocket in this notebook that I keep my coupons in for easy access, too. I come up with my weekly meal plan and write it on the page then I add things according to what the meal plans are for the week and then go off to the store. If the list looks short I refer back to lists in the past to see if there's an item that I might need that didn't make the list. I also check previous week's meal plans to see if there's something that sounds good that we haven't had in a while. I usually buy one or two non-perishable items for the pantry that is not on the list, but might be used in the future. I watch for those items to be on sale and take advantage of the savings. I also keep a running total of my expenses as I go through the store just to be sure I'm not overspending. I am able to feed a family of 4 for under $150 per week, and we eat well! Having the pantry stocked helps because there are usually no emergency trips to the grocery store that could result in impulse buys.
